🧵 Behind the Design

In Assamese folklore, Bordoisila is the storm goddess of spring. She is remembered as a daughter returning to her mother’s home around Bohag Bihu, the Assamese New Year. But her homecoming is never quiet.

The winds rise. The sky darkens. Thunder tears through the air. Before Bordoisila is seen, she is felt.

Bordoisila: The Homecoming captures that powerful moment of arrival. She appears with lightning in her hand, her hair swept by the storm, moving through the sky like a force that cannot be contained. Her story turns the storm into something more than weather. It becomes memory, longing, return and renewal.

This is not a soft homecoming.
It is a storm announcing itself.

🎨 Design & Craft

The artwork on the back is brought to life through high-density embroidery, using more than 1.3 lakh stitches. The design features Bordoisila in motion, wrapped in deep purple and black, surrounded by flashes of white lightning and storm lines.

Every detail is designed to carry movement: the flowing hair, the raised hand, the lightning cutting across the composition, and the bold text that declares: BORDOISILA HAS ARRIVED.

On the front, Project Indus is embroidered at the centre of the chest in purple thread. A branded cloth patch is stitched on the left sleeve, completing the piece with a subtle nod to identity.

🌿 Why It Matters

Wear this T-shirt as a tribute to one of Assam’s powerful folk memories. A story where nature is alive, feminine, fierce and impossible to ignore.

Bordoisila reminds us that returning to our roots does not always have to be gentle. Sometimes, it comes with thunder. Sometimes, it shakes the air. Sometimes, it arrives like a storm before a new season begins.

Let this piece carry the force of Assamese folklore.
Let it speak of homecoming, memory and renewal.
Let it announce what cannot be ignored.
